Give And Get Phrases With

summary of the Office of the Public Opinion Education 1 - Wahl-o-Mat and public broadcasters in the network "

dial-o-Mat
Alexander L. and Sarah S.

To investigate the role of the Wahl-O-Mat, respectively, the public broadcasting to be understood in Germany, one must be aware of the role of the public. Whether a choice-O-Mat, a feature film on ZDF, a news program - all these formats and many more actors, programs, programs are in their entirety from the public. For this product a variety of actors also forms the public opinion. Public - Especially from a political science point of view - creates a permanent and ongoing process of legitimacy for democratic rule.

is also our public policy, in principle, it is essential we make it easier to survey the whole. Total transparency may give it little, and survey is in the age of modern media forms part always easier, but also heavier.

we come to the Wahl-O-Mat back. Whether in the mirror or discourse model - based on these communication styles can be explained by the participation form Wahl-O-Mat a direction, a fundamental changes that result in many relationships: traditional media lose its influence in favor of the active population, which breaks with the Wahl-O-Mat, the "vermachtete arena of the media. This is true, you look at the types of public, especially the active and passive public, because people have no interest in politics and therefore not on election-O-Mat, have more traditional media-based theoretical communication paths.

The Wahl-O-Mat is an Internet tool that was in 2002 in advance of parliamentary elections set for the first time in Germany for the user are available. One has the option position to comment on different theories in order to then compare their own views with the participating parties. The aim of the Wahl-O-Mats It is therefore a contribution to make to shape opinion in advance of an election.

model of the German election-O-Mat is the "StemWijzer" of the Instituut voor Publiek en Politiek (IPP) in the Netherlands. The StemWijzer where it has established a permanent fixture during the primary public. Originally it was invented in paper form, then it was played using a floppy disk, and finally in 1998 it is available as an online tool.

the German election-O-Mat has developed the policy factory ("Student Agency for political communication"), in cooperation with the Federal Agency for Civic Education (BPB). Since the carrier is bpb Wahl-O-Mats.

The Wahl-O-Mat presents its user-makers 30-40 theses from various fields. Which may be to "agree", "neutral" and "disagree" to be positioned. In the end, the thesis that one is particularly important to be weighted. Thereafter, up to 8 parties can be selected to be compared with them. The analysis follows a simple principle in that for any differences between users and the party will be awarded points. For the difference between "agree" and "disagree" 2 points are awarded for the possible answer "neutral" will be awarded 1 point. If a match is not a point awarded. By the weighting of the theses to double the points. There is therefore the largest match between the party that has the least points.

The challenge of the election-O-Mats is to compress the sometimes complex political content so that they are reducible to individual theses. One problems is the positioning of the respective parties dar. It is not always clear whether this position corresponds to the real opinion. At certain theories perhaps no common ground exists within a party, especially if there are issues that do not constitute a focal point of a party. Problematic erweißt also dealing with far-right parties. The bpb all parties must have the choice to let the opportunity pass to add the Wahl-O-Mat to attend and therefore the NPD. Because of this, the State Office of Saxony-Anhalt decided to opt-in choice-O-Mat this year.

Now that we have experienced the history, principles and background information on the Wahl-O-Mat is the importance of this instrument to be explained - in our case, the example of the Wahl-O-Mat for state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010.

The analyzed data we have, which have been collected by the University of Dusseldorf and evaluated, can not only direct conclusions about the state election, but are similar in principle also surveys other choice. Fundamental is the gender of the user to - 65.9 percent of the Wahl-O-Mat users were men, only 34.1 percent were women. Compared to people who use the Internet in general - again, with 53.7 percent of men have a head start - exacerbated the situation again. Significantly more men than women make the choice-O-Mat use. This is not the only conspicuous, since people are usually quite young: learn to use 26.7 percent of the 20 to 29 year olds the choice-O-Mat - the largest group of users. Overall, do young people from 29 years to 34.9 percent of total users. From the age group 40 to 49 years subject to user values strongly. Seniors use the Wahl-O-Mat little, only 8.5 percent make the 60-year-olds from the user community.

Besides age and gender can be explored further clear trends in the Wahl-O-Mat research: consumers are highly educated with 81.4 percent have a university degree, completed high school or technical college. A comparison with the level of education of Internet users - this makes this education group only 34.1 percent - shows a clear bias.

Users of the Wahl-O-Mats are so young, highly educated and male - and he hits surprisingly well, the political position of the voters. 23.9 percent of users who had previously set a clear political confirmed their views are on the use, 67.3 percent found the test of their views taken at least has some.

lets These data draw on the representativeness in relation to the total population of clear conclusions: The Wahl-O-Mat meets only part of the electorate, the majority of voters this participation form is not using words, therefore, can affect basic theory concepts We have put in question at the beginning, be drawn clearly in doubt. But: The rich diversity in political communication has won the election-O-Mat in color.

Public service Internet services - As much e-participation, they actually offer?

by Jonas S.

In the discussion on opportunities for participation in the Internet to play the Internet sites of ARD and ZDF, a major role. Today they are an integral part of the German Internet and have been continuously expanded in recent years. The Public Service Broadcasting therefore represents the internet on the subject of e-participation is an important instance, because he played a key role with its contents, the process of political expression.

Tagesschau.de, according to latest figures from the IVW-service information line, the fourth-largest news website Germany after Bild.de, Spiegel Online and World Online. Already in 2007 the editorial tagesschau.de Join a political campaign called "Ask about Berlin." The users were able to even create video upload, in which they could put a question to a top politician. Selected contributions have been broadcast on ARD television and answered in connection of the respective politicians. For a long time held tagesschau.de also in collaboration with policy-digital.de a video chat. Here, users can ask questions through a chat screen in real time and answered by the attending politicians. Under the name of "choice on the Web" also features, ZDF corresponding Chats and exchange opportunities - but only to another day and parliamentary elections. "Choice on the Web" is an independent web format that is also broadcast on ZDF Info channel. Target group is people especially teenagers and younger.

as showcase for e-participation in the media a long time there was the "Action Network" of the BBC. Until his appointment in 2008 were citizens organize individual campaigns through this platform. The topics were wide-ranging - from speed limits on streets of London to software patents. A major benefit for the citizens was the back cover of the transmitter and thus the guaranteed Public. Under the guidance of experienced editors, users were supported in their concerns. Critics fear, however, the station lost the support of various campaigns through its independent role and neutrality. The BBC announced, however, were working on a new online platform, which still offer more features. The German side has given way so far no similar projects.

New rules for ARD and ZDF network

The amendment of the twelfth Broadcasting contract apply to the Internet to new rules for ARD and ZDF. Until then, particularly from the perspective of private media houses is not sufficient clarify what must the stations on the internet in the future and what is not. The accusation: The offers of ARD and ZDF are distortionary, there was even talk of a "public service newspaper on the web. According to the requirements of the new Broadcasting Treaty content must have a future mission reference, it must therefore have a link to the TV or radio program to be possible. Also regulated by a so-called dwell time concept, how long must remain an article in the archives of the transmitter sites. For text-radio and television reports from now on is an expiration date. So it is no longer in certain cases such as the transmitters are able to offer complete dossier, as some Contents do not match the timeliness criterion and thus have to be removed. Thousands of articles, audios and videos have already had to be deleted from the archives of tagesschau.de, heute.de and the national broadcasters. Here, a heated discussion between publishers, editors, has sparked the public broadcasters and users. Especially with the actual users, the measure meets with incomprehension. You have the content that they are now deprived of their already funded GEZ fees. The Link Collection presents different points of view.
